I have been scammed - Why can't the money on my Microsoft account pay for my 3 month xbox live

I bought 15 pounds worth of Xbox live vouchers to find only find out that i can't pay for my 3 Month Xbox live membership. This is a scam seeing as my vouchers directly say 'Xbox live 10' on it which i cant even use it for! I would like to either be able
to pay with this money, which is already on my Microsoft account, or get a refund with which i can buy the membership for.

    :)

  3. Can't use Microsoft account to pay for Xbox Live

I bought a $15 Xbox card and wanted to use the money to pay for another month of Xbox Live since I don't have any money on my debit. For some reason I can't pay for another month of Xbox Live with this payment option.....why?

For refunds you would have to contact support and speak to billing although they generally will not refund a gift card redemption.

Gold can only be purchased via credit card/Paypal or by purchasing a prepaid gold card from a retailer. The Microsoft account balance is not set up to work with recurring subscriptions.

If it specifically says "Xbox Live Gold" and mentions 3 months of subscription on the bottom, then you would need to contact the retailer you purchased it form to see about an exchange.

If it just says Xbox on top and has £15 on the top right corner, then it's a gift card and will mention that it can be used to purchase games and other content on Live, but not Live itself.

That is really lame if you can't use a gift card to purchase memberships and be made more visible announcement through the company. I just was on with support tonight about this issue and he said I should try again in 24 to 72 hours to make the purchase
with my Microsoft money so even their employee's aren't aware of this limiting issue. I want a refund so I can use my Best Buy gift card I had used for this for a different purchase but I am sure as others have stated below that I won't get a refund. I kind
of feel scammed that this isn't stated more visibly by the company.

umm you never couls.pay for memberships with prepaid currency

Didn't you read the cards this cannot be used for memberships

Even the definition doesn't even make sense

Why in heavens name would you ever be able to buy a subscription with a one time payment

Subscription legally required a reoccuring payment option as subscriptions renew

It's not a scam you just ignored the rules

    It clearly says no.membrrships
