    I have an xbox live gold membership but it won't let me play games that require it.


    I had purchase an xbox live gold membership for a year. However, today I could not play games online, and when I loaded up games such as Overwatch and Battlefield 1, the games prompted me to buy xbox gold. I have tried deleting my gamer tag and reinstalling
    it, also I have cleared the cache to no avail. This is very frustrating, since I have paid for a year membership. Any help would be much appreciated.

    That's the thing. I currently have Xbox live gold but can not access my games. I bought a year subscription but it won't let me access my previous games with gold

    Sorry to hear it. Xbox One Games with Gold games do require a Gold membership in order to continue playing them. If your membership expires you'll either need to purchase the game or continue on with a new membership.

    Xbox 360 Games with Gold games are your to keep regardless of your membership status.

    That is exactly what I have been trying to do and it won't let me. It keeps telling me "You need an Xbox LIVE Gold Membership to play multiplayer games online. Would you like to become a Gold member today?"
