Yes, it's an original 360 pro. The only difference between it and the arcade model (besides the DVD tray being a different color) is that it came with a 20G hard drive.

With the recent updates to the 360, you can use any external hard drive up to 2TB, and you can connect up to two of them.

Yes, the DVD tray is silver. So this would be an Xbox 360 pro model, or Xbox 360 arcade pro? If there's even a difference. I just want to make sure I purchase the correct hard drive for this thing.

Your console model is irrelevant--All phat 360s accept the same internal HDDs. That being said, don't buy a counterfeit HDD, because it may not support backwards compatibility, and may have file system stability issues (as in, you turn your console on one
day, and your HDD is wiped.) Since Microsoft no longer services or sells phat consoles, your best bet is to get an external HDD--up to 2 TB as mentioned in the post above.
