I have an Open NAT on my x360 but strict on XOne, please help.

Okay, so I have an OPEN NAT on Xbox 360, people connect to me, I connect to them just fine. On CoD Ghosts it's open, and yeah.. But on my Xbox One it is Strict.

I have done everything from updating firmware, configuring: DMZ, UPnP, Port Forwarding all the ports, resetting router and modem plenty of times (waiting the full minute) along with console and I still have a strict NAT. Yes, I tried only using one at a
time as well (UPnP, Port forwarding, etc.) and that didn't work either.

What Country/State/Province do you live in? USA, Virginia

Modem brand & model number: Century Link 660 Series

Router brand & model number: NetGear wgr614v9

    Wired or wireless: Wired

Things you have tried: DMZ, UPnP, Port Forwarding all the ports, resetting router and modem

Is UPnP Enabled? I've tried it enabled, and disabled.

Do you have a NAT error? If so, what is your NAT type? My NAT is Strict and I get a message when I test the connect: Your NAT is behind a port-symmetric NAT.

Any Error Codes you encounter: No

Who is your ISP?(Internet Service Provider): Century Link.

    :)

  3. XboxOne Party Chat, Well Over Complicated (Please Fix)

Funny thing is that my X360 shows OPEN NAT and my XB1 shows STRICT NAT. I have all of the correct ports open on my router and my party chat only works some of the time on the One.

Have you done a full power cycle of your Xbox one when doing all of these steps? If not you need to do so as it will not renew any new settings because the Xbox one stays in a low power state. Also, disconnect Xbox 360 from the network and leave it that
way. Then power cycle all network equipment and the Xbox one and see what Nat it gets. Some network devices just will not allow multiple xboxs on the same network to all have open nats.

How do you do a power-cycle? I'm quite confused when people tell me to do that lol.

  6. To power cycle the Xbox one hold your finger on the on off button. After a few seconds the console will power down. Then just turn it back on with on off button. You will know you did it right because it will take a while for everything to load back up with
    the restart.

I have an Open NAT on my x360 but strict on XOne, please help.

    Greetings Rusty!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Century Link 660 Series is an ADSL2+ modem with router/NAT built-in? If so, this will create multiple layers of NAT (Network Address Translation), since you also use an additional router/NAT device, that terminates to your
CL 660. This topology won't work with UDP (User Datagram Protocol) over NAT traversal and since Xbox One don't uses STUN (Session Traversal Utility for NAT), to discover and diagnose NAT behavior, it is more sensitive, how application on the Xbox One communicates
    through end-user NAT devices.

Please, verify if this is a match and we'll work from there.

    Thank you!

No, it's not a router and a modem. I have the old version. They've came out with a newer one that is a router/modem together but I have not traded mine in for that. That was gonna be my last step.

You sure? From Google, looks very much like all variations of the 660 were gateways (modem+router) that need to be put in bridged mode. This is the case with most DSL "modems." Does your Netgear report having a WAN-side public IP on its web interface?

On my NetGear router all the settings in WAN are:

    Disable SPI Firewall (checked)

    Default DMZ server: (unchecked)

Respond to ping on internet port: (unchecked)

    MTU size: (1500)

    NAT Filtering: (Open)

    Disable SIP ALG: (checked)

and once I went into bridge mode on my modem, i couldn't access my router's login or anything. No internet or anything. Had to restore modem to factory settings just to be able to login to the internet.

I just got the message when testing my Multiplayer connection on xbox one "You have high packet loss. Your packet loss is 20%. This is high and may be affecting network quality." never gotten that before.

I have an Open NAT on my x360 but strict on XOne, please help.

When you put your DSL gateway into bridged mode, you need to access your Netgear router via its IP address (http://192.168.1.1) then configure it to perform the DSL login via PPPoE etc. Otherwise, you will
    not have Internet.

How do I configure my Netgear to perform the DSL login via PPPoE? I'm not sure how to do this.
