I have access to a "communal" XB1 , need help

Hello everyone

Basically I'm abroad for a few months and have access to a communal xbox one in our lounge with lots of strangers using it. I have many games purchased on my account so I have some questions.

1. 1. Can I somehow have a password on my account so that only I can log into it? I don’t want strangers using it and messing about.
   
2. 2. What happens to my downloaded games? Can others play them too on the same xbox if they make new accounts?
   

Essentially im worried that someone will either use my account or play the games I have bought.

Preview program forum access

I need access to the Preview Forum as that I have a huge issue with the new XB1 Dashboard. Please help.

I need help I can not access these (above things).

 

1. Yes. When you're signed in go to settings and make sure you have instant sign-in turned off.

2. They can only access your content if you set that console as your Home console. Otherwise they will not be able to use your games.

 

I've been told to set up a "passkey" . Is this the same thing?

I already have a passkey set up on my console back home.

 

Yeah. You can find all of that in the settings.

 

Just having a discussion with xbox live support. The rep is saying that putting a passcode onto my account will only allow me to use it and play the games, however they have now said I should remove my account when I'm done playing. I'm really confused.

 

If you have a passcode on your account and you don't give it to anyone, you'll be fine. I wouldn't remove your account each time you're done playing unless you're just really worried about anyone using your stuff.
