I Have Absolutely NO Intention on Keeping My Xbox One Connected to the Internet

My IP ressources that I pay for. Will be allocated as I define appropriate and necessary.

My Xbox Ones will only be connected to the internet when I want to Game.

Any Restrictions or issues in doing that?

Any issues loging back in to xbox Live? or any issues at all?

I still haven't pulled the trigger on FM4, so no...I have absolutely no intention of getting Horizon.

 

xbox live not working / hotline not answering for hours !

Since 2 days, my xbox is connected to internet but won't connect to xbox live.

tried everything, have been with the hotline number for more than 1 hour and still no one taking my call...

Absolutely unibelievable and unbearable to treat clients this way more than a joke !!!!!

 

Umm, no. If you sign into Xbox Live, you will be online. If you don't, you will game offline.

 

As long as you connect it once for the initial update and setup, there are no restrictions on you keeping the system offline forever afterwards. Achievements won't unlock until you connect to Live and you won't get the latest console or title updates but
other than that you don't miss out on anything for choosing to play your games without an active connection.

 

so on re-connection to xbox live.. "Login" would be just as Fast as it is now to login to xbox live on ONE as it is now to login to Xbox 360..??

I have read of people having issues Connecting to Live and Loging Back In after disconnection from live..

Prompted to update Each GAME that has been given an up date, as I wish and when I want to..

But before I play it?

I may NOT want to update them all..

Nothing Auto is a desired Features or Service, "unless" I can choose to Auto update or Not. Can I choose if it's a good time to allocate ressources to update only the ONE game that I am goint to play?.. If I only want to update one and get to that game,
or skip all updates and just check messages can I??

 

If you get achievements offline, you won't "recieve" them until you connect online. and console updates and title updates.

 

Simple as going to settings, network, go offline. Want to go back online? Settings, network, go online. Takes about 6 seconds with Kinect or button presses. Went offline yesterday because I didn't feel like downloading the newest update at the time.

You will be prompted to update or you can check manually. Settings, system, update console/no update available. Don't want to update a game? Game will only play offline until you do.

Don't want to update the console? You're offline until you take the update...just like the 360 worked.

So to answer your questions after my last post:

When you re-connect, you would be forced to do all the mandatory OS updates. Now that they are pushing out updates monthly to rapidly add new features, if you have been disconnected for a long time this may be a sizeable download.

Game updates do not get done. They only get done when you launch the game or if you leave the console in Connected Standby (Instant On in Settings/Power&Startup) overnight. You would not have to wait for these to log into Live, but they may total many gigabytes
when you do eventually want to play your games.

You can trigger a game update manually by trying to start the game. That will prompt the console to say "There's an update!" and you can either perform the update or go offline and play it. If you start multiple games, they will all add their updates to
the download queue; you can re-organise this manually and even pause them if you wish.
