Are you by chance participating in the Insider Preview program?

Release.dogfood sounds like a pre-release testing build. Programmers are "eating their own dogfood" when they use test builds of their own software for themeselves.

So if you are an Insider, you might have gotten an "internal" testing build.

the top section of the screen is a grey banner with a red circle and a white x in it, then my sons tagname. Then there is a large central white section which has the message in it. Then there is a green banner at the bottom with OK in it. Then there are
two options below a green circle with A Select and a red circle with B Back.

I don't think there is such a setting. My best advice would be to mark your calendar, set a phone alarm or set your subscription to not renew, to prevent unwanted charges to your payment method.

Yesterday - September 24th I started Reach and there was a news banner at the bottom of the screen mentioning the TU and to click here. I did and it took me to another screen to purchase an avatar item. I didn't see anything about the TU. Today Sunday I
started Reach again, but there was no news banner at the bottom at all.

Any ideas? I do see that it was getting rolled out on on October 4th.

The banner that says "Xbox Forums...Join the Conversation" Is at the bottom on my screen. I can't delete private forums messages, (they just reappear) I've made contact with "techs" but they were just as stumped as I am. This forum IS a mess and I can't
believe people were paid to actually make something like this.
