I am an adult who is using Xbox Live in Korea.

Using Xbox Live in Korea is very inconvenient. Only 18 years old or older can play Xbox games, and 18 years old must prove it, requiring I-Pin certification.

To authenticate I-Pin, you need to install a security program for Windows.

This inconvenience is hampering Xbox growth in Korea.

So I want to introduce credit card authentication or cell phone authentication.

Most sites in Korea use mobile phone authentication, and some of them include public certificate and credit card authentication. Note that I-Pin authentication is error-prone.

You can always go and buy the digital giftcards online and just give them the code so the person can redeem it.

I think it would cause a lot more security risks. I mean if you want to add accounts to family you can move money around to accounts that way.
