I have a storage problem

When I try to save in a game it will say that my storage is full and it won't save. But my storage isn't full. My xbox storage itself has 155 GB free and I have an external hard drive that has 1.7 TB free. Has anyone else ever encountered this issue? And
if so have you figured out how to fix it?

Is this like a 150MB or so update to the Microsoft Store that's telling you that you need more internal room? If so, it sounds like you're in the Insider program and you need to potentially make sure your console has the latest preview update.

It's not an update, that's just how much my Xbox storage has left. And until recently, I had the Xbox Insider app on the on the console, but I don't think I was actually in the program.

That is odd. Have you checked where your default for downloads is set to, either Xbox or external hard drive?

When I download stuff it by default goes to the xbox storage and not the external hard drive.

xbox one only support two external hdd's connected at any one time for game storage. the third only being able to use for media storage.

Not sure how you are using three for game storage.

the not enough space issue seems to be pointing at file corruption due to powering down incorrectly or another issue which i cannot find much infor about,
