Rest assured that closing the second account with one missing dot will not affect your primary account in any way. The dot in your email address is considered a separate character, so the two accounts are completely separate entities. You can safely close the second account without any impact on your primary account.

it says my account doesn't exist, i know it does because the account is on my computer but i cant do anything with it because it says it doesn't exist. i can also see under my "emails & accounts" both accounts with different emails. the one i can login to doesn't have the same email even as an alias. So needless to say sadly it didn't work. Also thanks for the reply Georges!

Thanks for taking the time to reply but this is where the problem lies - As my children are both under 13 they can't get an email address!

This is why I've been going round in circles since Christmas!!! Children under 13 can have access to Microsoft live but only with an email address. However, children under 13 can't get an email address!

I realise that I could easily lie about my children's ages to get them an email account but that misses the point.

If Microsoft accept that children can have access to live why do they need to provide an email address which they are too young to actually have?

Or am I still missing something obvious?
