    Hello. I've purchased a 2008 XBox 360 Pro. I want to know two very specific things.

    The first is, please tell me if Microsoft is presently updating XBox 360 Pro consoles to their most recent system software.

    The second is, please tell me if Microsoft's servers are presently giving console users the ability to still download what is called, "an emulation profile" ... upon inserting an Original XBox DVD.

    In other words, has the service been shut down by Microsoft, or may I still download whatever emulation profile I want?

    What happens to your games if you get banned on an XB One

    This is just the same thing as will happen when Microsoft stop supporting the XBone or when a publisher decides to stop supporting a game...you'll lose everything. Money down the toilet. It's nothing like Steam, nor is it like the current XBOX 360. I hope people are aware and prepared for that eventuality.

    Yes the console will still update to the most recent system software.

    Yes, original Xbox backwards compatibility will still work. The last update came out in 2009 so once you update the console you should not have any problem running compatible games as long as you have an official MS hard drive.

    Have you called xbox support and what was the response? Bumblebee is correct, I think. Your xbox should only be opened by Microsoft. If the seal(-s) are broken MS won't help.
