I have a quick question about Lord of the Rings trilogy standard edition

If it states it's on sale for $24.99, then that's what you should be charged. This should include any taxes etc, but you can go through the motions as if you wanted to buy it and see what the total will be just before it charges you to be sure, and then
back out at that point before you confirm the payment if you don't want it.

While I can't tell you what tax would be added (i'm in the U.K. & tax is included in the price) I would advise not getting the standard editions of the LotR films & waiting for the extended editions to go on sale as they are far superior than the standard
editions & add so much to the films.

Online purchases can include tax, but from my experience (also living in the United states) they don't. Typically ecommerce tax, even on Xbox's Microsoft Store, will be under whatever the state sales tax for where you live is. The $24.99 most likely doesn't
have tax included with that price.

I crunched the numbers using a standard equation to find what the sale price before tax would be for 44% of 24.99... it's roughly $14 (its like 13.9944). To figure how much the tax is going to be you'd do the same for roughly $14 dollars.

Here's what it'd look like, I believe: $ * tax = x

Then you'd add $ and X to find the total price after tax. Where I live its 6% (or 6 cents on the dollar.) In some states its higher, in some its lower, in some there's not a sales tax.

Ex: 1 * 0.06 = 0.06; 1+0.06 = $1.06
