Hello. I would just like to know, what is the great difference between these two features?

As far I know which I have been using the most.. Is the Energy-Saving.. Basically when you turn off your Xbox One, It completely shuts down your Xbox One with no problem.. When you turn it on, It shows the colorful symbol of Xbox One similar to Xbox 360..
Now, Here is my small Problem, The Updates does not get updated at all.. Rather Disappointed to be honest and where is the background downloads from Xbox 360? It is in Instant-On?

Now for Instant-On.. As I can see, It has Wake up Xbox by saying "Xbox On" which almost 100% does not work unfortunately. Automatically Download Updates and Purchases? Now this one I like.. Awesome Feature.. When Xbox is off, turn off storage? I got no idea
what that feature does and I will just leave it on when I choose Instant-On. On Start, go to TV? I can't connect my TV to the Xbox One because I am using Cable from DISH and Sometimes I use this feature to take records or Screenshots from my Xbox 360 Video
    Games.

Now, I like the Instant On Feature but.. For some reasons, After those days I been using Instant-On feature.. My Xbox One becomes very weird, Including which it freezes completely and I can't turn it off, I had to restart (Holding the Power bottom for 5
Seconds I would say) or Disconnect the power cord.. Sometimes also, It lags in Xbox One Dashboard and Often I can't start my games or any App or Any Feature on Xbox One Dashboard..

Now all of this is the reason why I prefer the Energy Saving.. It turns off the system and fixes the Problem every time, But getting tired having to update games almost every time. (I have a total of 17 DIsk Games for Xbox One and slightly more from Arcade).

If any of you guys know a great fix that would be awesome, Which one do you prefer and What is a great difference between these two features?

Thank you for Reading and for Information or Help.

    :)

Instant On no longer working on new dashboard?

So today when I turned on my Xbox One I noticed it did not start up in Instant on mode but instead on Energy Saving Mode. So first thing I did was double check my settings so it was set to Instant On, it was, and restarted my Xbox One but it booted up on
energy saving mode. Next I turned off my Xbox One, unplugged it and let it sit there for 15 minutes. I then plugged it in, turned on my Xbox One, made sure it was set on Instant On and then restarted it, but it booted up in energy saving mode again.

For what it is worth I have the new Xbox One dashboard update. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

I have a question about Xbox One Energy-Saving and Instant-On.

I've used instant on with background updates since day one, I wouldn't know what a game update looks like anymore. I've also got the digital TV tuner so my Xbox boots straight to TV now which is awesome.

The storage off option is for external drives so it stops the drive from constantly being on when the console is powered down.

I see no positives IMO of putting it into power save mode.

I've had mine in Energy Saver mode since the third day of ownership. No crashing to home, never had to reboot/power cycle since then; the X1 has performed flawlessly since then.

    Peace, J.R.

I use the Instant On feature and haven't seen a game update in a long time. I've only had to reboot the console a few times due to some issues with games like FIFA & Minecraft.

I have had my Xbox One using Instant On since Day One. Instant On is the the way to go for sure. I also have not seen a game update on I don't even know how long. Nor a console update.

I have a question about Xbox One Energy-Saving and Instant-On.

I'm also in the preview program, and by not using instant on or getting updates automatically it gives me a buffer if the update causes issues; such as erasing your hard drive or bricking your console. I don't use automatic updates on any of my devices for
    the same reason.

    Peace, J.R.

  9. Okay, Thank you everyone for Replying and for Information. I had decided that I will use Instant-On for the mean while.. After I activated it, I went to click on every app, Game and Put in Game Disks to see which ones require update, And you will not believe
me.. At least 10 - 20 updates total... But now that I put some time into download all the updates and with Instant-On. I don't need to worry about the Update no more for the mean while.. I just hope The Instant-On Feature does not cause any problems.

    Again Everyone. Thank you.

  12. I play mostly late afternoon to early morning and always get kicked from games and party chat due to updates for the preview program with power saving mode. It's kind of annoying. I wish there was a option to where dashboard updates would update when the
console is in power saving mode. I don't like the instant on mode and having all my games auto update when its off.

I guess I'll just deal with getting kicked off to update the dashboard. Last time it did it I was in the middle of a raid in Destiny. Was kind of ticked off but it's whatever man. Cheers.

I have a question about Xbox One Energy-Saving and Instant-On.

I have been in instant on mode since day 1 as well with no problems or issues and same as everyone else updates happen automatically. As far as I am aware game updates never background downloaded on the 360 they always kicked in when the console was booting
up and you had to sit there while the game updated. Background downloads of games from the store or DLC is a completely different function.

I had mine in energy saving until about last month. Originally I didn't care for instant on because I still felt like the console was on when I turned it off. I could hear it doing stuff. Every so often I would put it in instant on to update while I'm gone
or asleep and then switch it back.

More recently because of so many updates from the preview program I've kept it in instant on. I do like that I don't have to worry about updates when I turn my console on but I think I still prefer energy saving.
