    renewed xbox live gold membership today but cannot access gold features

    I ran into this same problem last night when I renewed xbox live gold with a 12 month prepaid card. When I entered the code from the 12 month prepaid card the xbox store gave me an error (without an error code) and said to try back later. When I did the
    xbox store told me the code had already been redeemed.

    I then checked my subscription status in my xbox settings and it said that my gold expires October 2017, so the prepaid card code worked, except that I cannot download games with gold, or access deals with gold from my xbox one console.

    I successfully downloaded Assassins' Creed Chronicles China from the microsoft store by logging in to xbox.com this morning, but I was not able to download that game last night from my console.

    Any help at all will be greatly appreciated.

    Gold subscription does not except prepaid cards.edit

    Doesn't trust banks or credit card companies. Tries to use their pre-paid cards.

    I fear for this person's future when they try to buy a house with no credit. Maybe they are rich and will just buy it out right with their mattress money.

    As for a solution to your problem, use your prepaid card from a company you don't trust to buy a 12-month or 3-month Xbox Live Gold card from the store.

    When xbox or Microsoft was have problems with the generator I was trying to download call of duty ghosts with a prepaid code when I was trying to buy it it said I needed a credit card even though the prepaid code pays for the whole thing it said I had $56.89
    before I added in my mom's credit card then it changed took some Microsoft money from the prepaid card and left me with $2.50 and it never downloaded what should I do?

    If you do not have a credit card, you can try the pre-paid Xbox Live Gold Subscription cards. These cards can be found in any 3rd party store.

    I honestly haven't found a way other then using Xbox prepaid cards at this point. There might be a way to do it online through your microsoft account. but the easiest is a prepaid card.

    I used a CC to pay for my renewal directly through Xbox Live. If you use a prepaid card that you bought from a store, you won't have this problem since they won't ask for your card. Still, IMO you shouldn't have this problem at all. It's frustrating.
