I have a new HDTV for my Xbox One ^u^ [IMG]

It's the Sony KD43X8000E 4K HDR with X-Reality PRO processor, Triluminos live advanced colour tech, Android 7.0 (more secure than Samsung's Tizen OS which has unpatched vulnerabilities) and 16GB on board fast flash storage meant for the system.

Haven't tried it with gaming yet (Xbox One X and PC). But streamed YouTube and Netflix videos in 720p and 1080p are upscaled to 4k and look amazing! Colour is awesome. And the blacks are better than my previous TV. In fact, blacks on my 8000E TV are VERY
good for an IPS panel which has wider viewing angles than VA panels. I've so far found out that Photo picture mode is the best setting for me currently. And it has an anti-glare anti-reflective coating display which means you can put it in a room with windows
and it WON'T reflect like a mirror in bright sunlight, something which lots of HDTV's do, especially Samsung TV's where I saw in store the store lights reflecting like a mirror of those TV's, but not my 8000E TV.

It does a great job upscaling to 4k. HDR isn't good for streamed YouTube and Netflix as it ruins the picture. But it shouldn't be happen with games with HDR in it. That's what happens when you have it set on High so I've set it on Auto and it's fine and
    good.

Look forward to trying it out with my Xbox games. And yes, that's my Xbox One X in the pic. I've put my original Xbox One day one console and Kinect in storage and will use Kinect when I want to. Kinect is great but it's not everything, and Microsoft has
terminated support for Kinect manufacturing and selling. I wouldn't be surprised if they release an Update in the near future that no longer supports the Kinect.

Sony RRP for my new TV is NZ$1699 + NZ$129 for delivery and installation. But authorized retailers in NZ are having a good TV sale this week and got mine for NZ$1258 that's the TV, delivery and installation! So that's over a $500 saving! And I did some research
before buying. Had my old Sony KDL40EX720 since late 2011 and have upgraded now. My new TV should last at least another 7 years or so before I want to upgrade again. Still figuring out if the TV has a quad core processor (X-Reality). Samsung write "quad core
processor". Might find out or I can contact Sony NZ with the query.

Looking forward to seeing what my Xbox One and Xbox 360 games will look like. My old TV experienced jaggies and poor anti-aliasing. I have hopes my new TV won't be as bad. (note picture was scaled down so that these forums wouldn't crash).

    :)

Have the same T.V. in my bedroom. Awesome set. Only complaint is the blacks can get a little "grey" in a pitch black room.

I have definitely been thinking about getting Assassins Creed Origins. However it's RRP NZ$109. EB Games these summer holidays (currently summer in NZ and Australia) did have a sell for the game - NZ$88, but that's still a lot for A GAME. The only game so
far this year I'm looking at getting is Jurassic World from Frontier, due out later this year. I like simulation games. Still waiting for Microsoft to get the Super Duper Graphics Pack to Minecraft, out, but it doesn't look like it will even be out these year! If........
and when................................................... , it comes out, that would be great. It would be like Minecraft Java version for PC, which has life like water and sky! I think I might look into getting it. It's NZ$48. Then I'll learn how to play
    it then enjoy.

As for my TV, it has good blacks if you play it when there's sunlight or you have your room light on. I use it in my bedroom too so I can use it in a less busy place of the house. However if you use it in a dark room, true the black isn't midnight perfect.
Yes there's some settings. Photo vivid picture mode works well for me. My bedroom gets a lot of sunlight so the anti-glare (anti reflective) coated display is great. The Opera browser is rubbish. It has Android 7.0. Why doesn't who ever is responsible (sony/google)
have google chrome/browser. It would be also cool to know if the processor running my TV (X-Reality PRO) is a single core, dual core, or quad core processor, and what speed the processor can do (e.g. 800Mhz, 1.5Ghz?) There's a YouTube video which shows an
app you could install from Google Play but it looks like any such apps aren't available in Australasia (Australia and NZ). The TV does a good job with upscaling 720p and 1080p, but does a miserable job at upscaling anything less than 720p. It's 2018 and only
like 20% of the stuff out there is 4K NATIVE.
