    dual band (2.4 and 5).

My cable modem is dual band( 2.4 and 5.0). My older 360 recognizes both while my newer 360s will only recognizes the 2.4. How canI get it to recognize the 5.0 band.

    Thanks,

    GH

  3. Can't get smartglass to connect

I figured it out for me and hopefully it will help someone else. It was 2 things. One I had the old IOS app, downloaded the new one. Two my wireless network beams a 2.4 GHZ and 5GHZ channel. My phone was on the 2.4 and the Xbox was connected to the 5GHZ channel. I connected my phone to the 5GHZ channel wifi and now all is bueno.

    Hello rborges_613,

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. Has the console been moved farther away from the router or gateway? The 5.0Ghz WiFi network provides better speeds for devices that are closer to the router or gateway. If the console was moved farther
away from the location of the router or gateway, it could cause the console to not detect the network. Be sure to let us know the results!

Have you recently moved either the Xbox or router?

5 GHz provides greater that 2.4 GHz, but over a much shorter distance. This makes it very easy to move out of range.

Additionally any new tech can cause interference, even if it does not connect to the router, such as hands free phone.

With my setup, when my son is home and connects to the network from his bedroom, the interference makes connections from my bedroom very slow and intermittent.

If your Xbox is close enough to the router, it is always best to connect to it via a LAN Cable as this offers the fastest and generally most reliable connection.

    Thanks Ki Ra.

No the console is same position as before, thinking about interference I moved modem next to Xbox one with same result.

Hey Rborges thanks for keeping us in the loop!

We suggest clearing the Network Card Cache to make sure there isn't any corruption on there. To Clear the MAC address follow these steps on the console:

    Settings

    Network

    Network Settings

    Advanced Settings

    Alternate MAC Address

    Clear and restart

Give it a shot and let us know how it goes!

Cannot connect any of our Xbox 360's to our WiFi can you help?

    Yes I have b/g only

Only bands are 2.4 and 5.0

    Please help, still cannot connect
I think it's safe to say that the Xbox 360 S, with the built in wireless network adapter, is not compatible with your velocity hospot. At least not driver vice/firmware vice.
