You can purchase currency cards at retail stores(Target, Amazon, Best Buy, etch.) in predetermined denominations like you use to do with point cards, or you can put a credit card on your account and purchases can be charged to that when you decide to make
a purchase.

Thanks for that Legendary Lynx I've already looked at that. Here is an example of what I was trying to say.

Ex: Lets say that I want to buy something that is $20(currency before transition) on the xbox marketplace. I have $14 of money that was converted from Microsoft Points but I don't have enough obviously. I buy an xbox live gift card that adds $10 (currency
after transition) to my account. Will I be charged tax on the purchase or will I only be taxed on the $6 from the gift cards or will I not be taxed at all?

how much is the movie youre trying to buy? In some states or country(depending on where you live) you will be taxed and goes by the tax rates in your state or country if that is the case. You will have to add more money onto your MSA or add a card and do
a split transaction on the account, just note some movies and games do not do split transaction so be careful there that it might charge your card the full price.
