I hate having to download every game!

Might of been a couple games, but most games don't, even the new Borderland game can be played from the disk.

 

Some day consoles wont even have disc drives.

 

It's less stress on the hdd. You only have to stick the disc in so it shows that you own the game ans then it reads it from the hdd. It's actually pretty smart. Remember that the 360 hdd had this issue. They implemented it into the One so their would be
little to no problems. You could always buy an ext hdd if you wanted to add more storage.

 

It is easy to work around this: You can remove games you are no longer playing or you can add an External HDD. I have two 2 TB drives that I use. One for media such as movies, photos and music and one for additional drive space.

They are quick and easy to set up and the response time is very quick. You will not notice any lag time.

 

Add to the list of why's, the fact that even if the newer blu-ray drives could read the data fast enough and load times were decent, compared to the HDD, it would still be much harder on the disc drive to do all the data reading/loading. An HDD is just much
better suited for it.

The system runs quieter, reduced load times... ever had a game disc that was slightly out of balance? Sounds like that whirring vibration is going to shake the console apart sometimes. Imagine how hard that is on the drive and surrounding components.

Installing the game to the HDD is just better over all, better performance, more longevity, less noise... in fact, after the option to install to HDD was added to the 360, I wouldn't play a game until after I installed it.

 

These are Blu Ray discs now, it takes a bit longer to read them. There is external storage support now, and you can always just uninstall games you no longer play.

 

Not only that but so many big updates to download - I only bought the Xbox one last week with Shadows of Mordor - before I could play it I had to download a 750MB update to the xbox and a 250MB update to the game - and today another 700MB update for the
game - ridiculous, especially with a really slow BB connection.....

 

Do you have you X1 in instant on more? I very rarely see any update's as they are normally done when I'm not playing the X1.

 

^ This! Give me this sytem over the 360 any day of the week, or have people forgot about turning the 360 on and getting forced updates that stopped you playing until they were done and some of the system updates could take ages. a

 

It because of BLU-RAY. It takes to time to read on disc then HDD.

 

As far as I know, you have to install PS4 games as well.
