I previously purchased Game Pass Ultimate during the $1/month sale, and have since canceled it. Now I have a year's subscription to Xbox Live Gold. If I were to purchase a month of Game Pass Ultimate at the full $14.99 price, would my year of Live still
convert over to a year of Ultimate?

Thanks for coming to the forums with your question. When you convert to the Ultimate subscription, any Xbox live gold or game pass time you have converts to the Ultimate subscription. For example, if you had 1 month of Xbox live gold and no game pass. You
then purchased the Ultimate for $1. You will have two months of ultimate subscription.

Has anyone else had this issue?

I started a 14 day free game pass subscription. I bought a game while it was on sale, and the game was also free on game pass. (borderlands Handsome collection for $14.99) I pressed the purchase button, not the "install for free on
game pass" button. yet when game pass expired, I could not play the game. I talked to a support rep for some time. she said "Seems like the system didn't charged you for the game because it has tracked your active Xbox game Pass subscription.". Even though
I pressed the purchase button. I clearly remember because it was on sale for 14.99 down from 59.99. It seems like a subtle trick. And now I have to purchase the game for 4x the amount I should have paid for it if I want to play it.

Usually when a subscription is cancelled, if you’re eligible for a refund the system shows you a message about this

If you were not able to see that message, unfortunately you’re not eligible for a refund

If you want, you can try filling the refund form. But nothing is guaranteed

In case your refund gets denied, you can actually file an appeal for the results of the refund.

All you need to do is to reply to the email that was sent to you by the refund team, you can reply with a detailed explanation so they can review your request again

If you've never had Ultimate, you should be able to purchase a 1 month subscription through Xbox which would convert the standard Game Pass you already have to Ultimate as well. Otherwise, unless you can find a prepaid card on sale somewhere, you would still have to pay the regular price for Ultimate.
