I had 2 Microsoft accounts now i can only login to one

I've been having a issue of the 2 account combining. I wanted to re download a game i already purchased years back and when i want to log into the account that had it, it just logged me into my other account. I tried changing the email and password but it then just changed the email and password on my other account to match. They come up as completely different accounts but after i click on either it shows up as the same email and password. I don't want to have to re purchase my game again and the account its on when i tried logging in through windows instead of the store it appeared as the proper email for the account but said "login failed " then also had under "illegal state change request". This is all confusing and making my head hurt. i just really don't want to pay the $49.45 when i already bought it for like 50 something on the account i cannot log into no matter what i've tried.

Hello again Rebecca, I'm sorry for what's happening with your account, as you see this is a public forum and our suggestions are limited, the ideal would be to contact microsoft support directly so you can get some help because we don't have access to the tools and data that Microsoft support has.

Hello RebeccaForeman, you happened to have created an Alias for one of your account, I ask this because you can not merge accounts, the ideal would be to try to open the accounts separately, if possible one in one browser and another in another browser, click the link below and go to Your Info:

Then in Account info, check the emails, or phones that log in to this account.

it says my account doesn't exist, i know it does because the account is on my computer but i cant do anything with it because it says it doesn't exist. i can also see under my "emails & accounts" both accounts with different emails. the one i can login to doesn't have the same email even as an alias. So needless to say sadly it didn't work. Also thanks for the reply Georges!

Hi Lucas,

I thought the only Microsoft account I had was this one that I’m signed into but when I use this login on Minecraft, it says that it’s linked to another one?

Is there a way to find the email that is linked to my account? That way I can figure out the login and sign in.

I wrote Microsoft support and they were able to identify the other accounts that were on my old xbox and it turns out there were 2 other accounts, which were made using both my parents emails, and one of them had the name I wanted back.

So now I will just login to those account with the help of my parents and delete the accounts to free up the gamertags!
