    So I had to change my phone number a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately my Microsoft account had 2 step authentication turned on. The other form of authentication besides my password was this phone number I had just gotten rid of. So when I was unable to play my Xbox, I submitted this form to change the phone number on my account. I have to wait 30 days until this happens during which time I will not be able to use this account. Sucks but at least I can put another account on my Xbox and play some games with that. Nope. Turns out there is a Guest key that I must enter to create another account on the Xbox. I don't remember what this key is let alone creating it. So I can't even use the Xbox at all. I've talked to customer service. Actual live people. I have offered to fax or email any form of documentation required to verify I am who I claim to be. If I was to paraphrase their answer to my predicament it would be, 'We could but will do nothing to expedite this month long lockout period you have. Heed the obvious lessons learned from hindsight. Too bad. So sad. Bye bye.' At first I was able to shrug off the apathy. I am about a week and a half into this month long hiatus now though and when I come home from a ten+ hour shift and look at my Xbox sitting there, I must say that the anger is definitely swelling. In console buys, yearly subscriptions and platform loyalty, I have given much. Been Xbox only since the original some twenty years ago. I ask for someone to take an extra step/go an extra mile and figure out a solution and its nothing but corporate monotone scripts begging for my understanding and patience yet void of sincerity. This isn't complicated and someone swinging a big enough axe could, I am sure, responsibly address my problem without damaging the integrity of 2 step authentication. I'll wait the month though only because its my only choice. A month consisting of Christmas and New Years to a man unable to be with his family for these holidays. THANK YOU SO MUCH. This kind of flippant disregard to this long time customer will be remembered next time I'm in the market for a next gen buy.

    2Step xbox one and 360

    Hello Junkdewd,

    You can change your Microsoft Account (MSA) password now, then go back to the website to generate a new 'app password' for your Xbox 360 which will allow you to log in there.

    After changing your MSA password your Xbox 360 should ask you for a new password, which will require the new app password to be generated and input.

    you still can update your billing info on your 360, this 30d security lockout is not affecting your

    xbox Login

    - go to Settings, account, 2steps right then billing info

    i have this problem for a year now and i can't give up

    I didn't do that. An Agent asked me many questions i answered them and he/she escalated the 2case numbers . Many agent told me that the 2step verification won't be a problme in the process of removing the suspension in my 2case numbers
