Bring back tape loading, that will make them think, 45 minutes sometimes to load half a megabyte of info lol.

Yes. Shocked and disgusted considering that on PS4 you don't have to wait that long. It's actually almost instantaneous. I love the One but cmon....... I'm an adult and I own both consoles. I'm not biased and can say things like PSN sucks, X1 install times
are laughably slow, etc.

 

i'm not bothered by the install time, digital games are pre-downloaded now, and installing games from disc on the X1 just reminds me of when i use to do a lot of gaming on PC and installing games with multiple disc and actually having to sit there and wait
for it to request the next disc, least now i can walk away from the TV and do something else while it installs, or even watch TV, or Netflix... or play another game.

 

I love the complaining about dl times. I remember dial up! 5kb a second. Think that would teach some of these young people some patience?

 

Yeah I remember dial up too but guess what year it is? There is no complaining here, only a blunt and brutal observation: installing games on the X1 takes longer than on the PS4. What exactly does the past have to do with this issue? Is that some sort of
a defense mechanism? I'm not bashing MS or the One. But the truth is the truth. What's so hard to understand about that? Does that hurt your feelings or something?

 

No not really. And considering I'm on an Xbox forum, do you really think I give a rats behind what the playstation can do. Your the one getting a tad defensive here!

 

There's always going to be a clash with the size of the download and the speed your network will be able to download it - heck, I remember back when Jurrassic Park first released my brother and I spent nearly 2 days trying to download a 320x240 3-minute
trailer with our old 56k dial-up modem connection. It was painful, but well worth it.

You should save "shocked and disgusted" for proper problems mate, and use "mildly irritated" for DL times. On a scale of 1 to Afhganistan its hardly important is it.

 

A 4x blu-ray drive transfers data at a faster rate than a 12x dvd drive. So it is doubtful slow install times are at the drive end.

From what I've read when you install a game the One tries to get any game updates at the same time, meaning you've got two things trying to access the hard drive.

Disk installs apparently go a lot faster if you disconnect from the internet.
