I got the Xbox One! Impressions inside the thread.

Pros:

I really think the console looks cool.

The controller feels fine.

Cons:

Updates really ARE painstakingly slow. It's currently at 4%, I probably won't be playing until an hour or so.

I kinda figured it wouldn't be that bad since the system update didn't take that long, but for some dumb reason, Microsoft decided to put a download code of SO in the bundle (instead of a disk, which I think would have been faster).

I'll let you know more pros once I'm able to play. Part of me is kinda regretting the choice already in a way, I can start playing at 20%, but eh...

also the inside cup sizes seem exactly the same between the 2 as I was under the impression the x12s Were bigger

 

When I initially plugged in my X1 for the first time it took about 15 mins to load. The first game I installed (DR3 and COD Ghosts) each took about 20 mins to load. Once I had Ghosts installed, I started to install DR3, so no waiting.

SO your slow internet is making you regret your purchase?

 

I'm impatient. I got a lot of things going on with work, girlfriend, friends, etc.. When I have time to play, I want to play...not wait around for silly downloads. I don't see me buying a lot of games this generation.

My internet is fast. Not only that, but first off, I said in the opening post that it's a download code. Meaning it's being downloaded digitally. Which is super slow.

My internet isn't crappy at all. I'm just saying, it's been over ten minutes and it's just now at 7%. The first update was downloaded pretty fast, so my internet doesn't suck.

What I meant by that is that if I had gone with the PS4, I'd be playing a game by now. Ah well. I'll just wait it out...

PSN is down, if you had a PS4 you wouldn't be playing either lol. Either way, download speeds seem to be fine for me. my friend downloaded SO last night in about 45 minutes but was able to play after about 15 minutes. I don't think thats long for a 20+GB
game personally. Not sure what your expectations are

Well, I do like the XB1's UI and controller so far, but it'll take time to adjust since I've mostly been a PlayStation and Nintendo guy. xD

Anyways, I'll be able to play at 20%, right? How much can I play?

 

you got the white one? is it nice? i wanted to trade mine in for it but Gamestop would only take it with Kinect and I love Kinect so i didn't trade it.

 

You want better graphics and sound in your games?? The tradeoff is larger game files...just the facts. This is why you are allowed to download remotely or while you sleep (and can get updates while in standby mode as well). It is also always slower when
you sit and watch it download...best to start it and then go mow the lawn, or something...

Yeah, the white Xbox One looks good. It suits the console well.

 

If you're only waiting for an hour then you have no room to complain (no offense); I've been waiting for Sunset Overdrive to finish installing since 6 a.m. this morning and it's only at 30%... :'(

Yeah, I already got a Xbox Live Gold membership. The game let me start playing, but now it has to finish installing.

Will I get used to the controls/controller over time? It feels slightly different coming from the PS controllers to the XB1.

Also, I'm probably gonna get Killer Instinct from GameStop. Today was a lesson in which I learned to not bother with digital games, lol.
