I got mad, turned it off and the kids claim they lost everything!!!

Yep, I went to the power strip and turned it off mid-play. My kids say they lost about $20 in credit they had purchased and a bunch of other settings. I know NOTHING about Xbox, just looking to see if I really am a bad mom and caused them to truly lose
their settings. Advice?

hmm although this sounds like a cool feature I believe Lost once told me I was full of it when I made the claim that anything connected to the internet could be turned on and operated remotely. Said I was being paranoid and that it was not possible hmmm.

 

Xbox deleted everything from hard drive

I turned off my Xbox this morning. I turned it back on and a message popped up saying my console needed a system update. I downloaded the update and it deleted everything off of my hard drive. How do I get my lost data back?

 

If the is true you need to check the account here and it will all stuff done so one try here to see https://account.microsoft.com/ it will lest all stuff bought and so on 2 go here to re check Sign in to your Microsoft account
do this on thier account to be sure ... not sure how else to help ..and i hope this was some help ..... cause the stuff is saved like a cloud system and does not work like that ...that i know of

Games such as NBA 2K16 have an auto save feature. The only things your kids may have lost was game play since the last auto save. As for purchased content, that's an in game issue and if any purchased content is missing (unlikely from turning it off at
the power strip) that will need to be addressed with the game developer.
