I Got Banned for 1 day for sending a message (one positive message ) with one bad word

I was playing Apex Legends and the guy I was team up with was using his mic to punish every move I was making; he was obviously better at this game than me and he was getting very frustrated that I was not doing exactly what he wanted. And he made
me know that on the mic in every opportunity he had.

At the end of the game, I send him a message on the lines of this is just a game and not every body is as good as you are. Just have fun you bitc…. Too much (you get the point) I even say to him that he was very frontal in the game and for it, he was
very good at it.

What was my surprise that Microsoft banned me for one day for that word, it was a nice message and this guy who actually gave me everything he got for 30 min over the mic is like nothing ever happen to him, there is no punishment for him!! And that
he probably send the complaint against me for that message and I ended banned a day.

What is even wort this guy sends me a message saying that I was right, that he was overly excited and he was sorry but was after all a good game!! Which was the answer I was actually looking for from him, I had No intention to harm this player in any
way.

Plus, I don’t have the possibility of reviewing anything since is just one day ban. But well, I was just writing here what happened to me, because it just doesn’t feel fair and I think Microsoft is just hearing one part of the equation, they banned
me for the bad word in the message and they are right It’s a violation of the conduct for players on Xbox live but they miss the context of the word which is not offensive at all and this guy is unpunished for his bad behavior on the match, for everything
he sent me over the mic when I play with him and can't report him for this banned day. Frustration in all fronts.

Never had a problem like this and my conduct on Xbox live is perfect. But well, what do you think. Does Microsoft should revisit how this works.

In your situation, there is nothing we can do, but advise you to learn from your mistakes and ride out your suspension time. In future, do NOT instigate the problem, by sending messages with bad or derogatory language, as you don't know who you are dealing
with. The Xbox Terms of Service and Code of Conduct ensure that Xbox Live is a safe, fun and secure place to play and socialise, and the team's decision was lenient.

Sucks you got banned, but unfortunately you did break the COC by swearing whether it was for a positive or negative reason.

I understand it can be frustrating at times when people are like that but my solution and advise would be to just mute them. They can’t bother you that way.

That information is not correct. You can't file a case review for a 24 hrs ban. All the op can do is read the Code of Conduct to avoid future enforcement acts.

Unfortunately. Only to do, you can contact enforcement. If it is true, they should unban you. From my point of view.

Swearing and using banned words it is against rules and code of conduct. So they can unban you, but on the other side, understand the fact, that even if it is ment in positive way, you can get banned if the person reports you.

Hi there

The best thing to do would be not to send any kind of message that has any form of bad word in it and try to be a friendly as possible when your messaging someone.

Thats also what i was thinking after my current ban. But is that really a solution ? Yesi dont get banned anymore, but it makes me not messaging any one at all probably of how absurd the system behind that is. Typing „bad“ can get you banned, i assume that
was the trigger for the ban in that message.
