I got a xbox controller and I want it to connect to my Chromebook

It is an honor for me to greet you today and try to help you in whatever way is necessary. The steps to connect the control are as follows:

1. On your Chromebook, click the settings icon in the lower right corner of the screen.
2. Select “Devices” and then “Bluetooth”.
3. Make sure Bluetooth is on.
4. Press and hold the Xbox button on your controller until it flashes.
5. From the list of available Bluetooth devices, select “Xbox Wireless Controller” and click “Connect.”

If the control still does not connect to your Chromebook, verify that your control has updated firmware, let me know if it is updated.

Since your controller doesn't have Bluetooth capability, we have two options to connect it to your computer. It's either using a USB cable or wireless adapter for Xbox wireless controller.

Our best option here is to try another USB cable that supports high quality data transfer or connection for both devices being connected.

For wireless adapter, since you got a Chromebook, you will have to find any compatible adapter for Xbox controller on your Chromebook.

Thanks for the update, got it. Are you able to use a different web browser, like Edge or Firefox? or are you using a Chromebook?

And, the controller is connected wired or via bluetooth?

To answer your questions:

1. I am not running windows. I am on a Chromebook, running Chrome OS Version 112.0.5615.134 (Official Build) (64-bit).

2. I've made sure both my chromebook and bluetooth headset are up to date and working as intended. My headset works fine on my Xbox and on other bluetooth connections (my phone, or a computer call).

3. Yes, I've updated them as much as possible.

For your troubleshooting solutions:

• Everything is up to date.
  
• I am very sure audio is coming into my headset, and I am fairly sure that microphone input is being received by the chromebook. When I am on a call, it works as intended.
  

I am using my controller and headset on my chromebook both connected via bluetooth. Could that potentially be a problem?

I’m not streaming on my Xbox. I’m using the gamepass app on my chromebook. I also tried playing on my iPad but it still got the same error code 0x80830003
