The light stops flickering sometimes if i open the disc tray, but now it will open, close immediately, and the light still flickers, if it stops, i can play a disc game for a 30-45 mins. but then its starts again and i end up at the xbox home screen.

Sounds like an issue with the console itself. If the system does not function properly when the power light is flickering then you should look into getting it repaired or replaced.

Very strange issue, I heard of this light lights flickering due circuits and wiring of the house hold, I suggest contacting a Electrician to check your household & outlets.

If this is a 3 day old console and you get to the area where a repair is needed, I would suggest returning it to the store as you should be within their alloted time for a return. If they won't accept it back, you may need to go through with the repair
process directly with Microsoft.
