I got a free Gold trial with my Xbox One, but multiplayer isn't working!

Well, isn't the free trial for Live Gold?

I can't play online multiplayer, and on the dashboard's homepage I see the large "Try Gold" advertisement.

My country is Italy.

Yea same , my free trial doesn't expire till 11th and yet my gold isn't working at all been like this for days not till I brought a 12 month card did it start working.

Xbox live service is terrible atm nothing but issues since I got on it with my xbox one.

I'd like an answer to this as well. I have gold but a friend rented the game to try for the weekend and it will not work. I understand Destiny doesn't work with free trials but this isn't a free trial. Xbox.com even states that you can play Destiny with
this free weekend because EVERY account is gold for 3 days.

i got 14 Days trial with my XBOX One, 2 Days with my second controller and 7 Days with Forza 5. so i should have gold until the 15. December. But in my account state it shows that i am a free user. But i am able to use multiplayer, skype, skydrive etc.

I am having the same exact issue right now. I am 2 weeks into my free one-month trial of Xbox Live Gold and all of a sudden it does not show up on the console. I have spent the last one on chat with support and they do not seem to have an easy fix for this.
The support rep tried several times to claim that the free trial did not include multiplayer access which is total crap since I had been playing both Halo 5 and Star Wars Battlefront multiplayer up until this morning. After a lot of pressing they finally removed
the free trial and sent me a prepaid code for another 1 month of Gold. Entered the code and I am back online with multiplayer.
