Are you sure you chose "purchase as gift" and not just buy? If there's no code, but the game is still listed in your order history, it sounds like it was just bought for your account and would be tied to your account.

Check your order history at http://account.microsoft.com and it should show you the code and you can give it to them.

The first RE game I played was RE 2 and was in love from the jump. I remember me and my cousin playing day and night for 4 days straight to beat the game. I missed out on 3 and didn't care much for 4 or 5. I only got five because it was a gift from a friend.
A transition back to what made the game what it was would be perfect, it's probably not going to sell 5 million its first day but gamers will appreciate it more so than Call of Dumb$***

Okay, let me see if I got this right.

I buy a game say Bioshock. I have 10 friends/family on my list. I play the game, the rest of my friends/family play the game over the next 2 months or so, I then gift/give the game to another friend not on my list, he has 10 friends/family on his list...
they all play the game over the next 2 months or so, he sells the game to Gamestop. Gamestop then resells it used for say $25, and a small portion goes to the publisher. This guy has 10 friends/family on his list, they all play the game over the next 2+
months, he then resells he gifts it... we will stop right there for this example

Okay, now off of this one game and one used game sale you get his, let's say $85 retail total. We have given access electronically to this number of people:

1st Sale: (1) Original buyer and people in his house + (10) other friends/family on list and in their houses

Gift: (1) Original Person receiving the gift and the people in his house + (10) other friend/family on list and in their houses

2nd Sale: (1) Original Person bought used game and people in his house + (10) other friends/family on list and in their houses

2nd Gift: (1) 2nd Person to receive a gift and the people in his house + (10) other friends/family on list and in their houses

Okay, now 44 XBL accounts over a course of 6 months have access to the game for $85 plus anyone else sharing their account in the same household, this is unknown.

And MS is going to do this free of charge?

my friend owns it and he sent it me as a gift he also said it didnt charge him for gifting it. i didnt get a code or anything telling me about it, i just so happen to be going through my games and noticed it and just downloaded it with no problem. he told me he sent it a few hours before, now it not showing up in my owned games and when i go to the store it says i need to buy it
