I get "update in progress" when launching an app.

Hi,

Each time a launch an app like HBO Max, Disney, VUDU, etc, I get "Update in progress" and can only close. I check updates and nothing is available. I have cleared the cache twice and still no go. This started happening after the recent console update back in Oct. What gives?

How long does the console reset and keep my games and apps take? I've started it, but haven't see anything indicating it is completed.

For such cases, our suggestion here, attempt a Soft Factory Rest Xbox Support by selecting the following:
Reset and keep my games & apps. You should use this option as your primary choice when troubleshooting. It will reset the OS and delete all potentially corrupted data without deleting your games or apps.

Is this when you try to start an app/game? I'm having trouble launching any media apps, getting an "update in progress" message ...it's been happening for a few days now. Sorry to jump on your post if they're not the same issue...I can't for the life of me find a button to make my own post!

I am also facing the same issue with the latest update from GTA V. Cancelling and reinstalling the game doesn't help either. Installation progressing at 901% as of now.

Besides this issue, the other xbox apps aren't launch citing the installation progress alert.

Would you please check An app won't start on the Xbox console | Xbox Support page as it contains some solutions. However, your console might need an update as well. Please follow the instructions mentioned in About system updates on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One | Xbox Support page.
