I found out something strange with Fallout 4 stability issues.

I play the French version of Fallout 4.

And i noticed many times i had crashes when discovering new areas, specially Faneuil Hall, Pickman Gallery, Boston Commons.

I've been experiencing many freezes and crashes over the years, to the point i gave up on playing Survival difficulty, since you can't save at will.

I tried everything, read all threads, know all supposed solutions...

But this time i had an idea ;

"What if it's a localisation issue ?"

So i changed my XBox localisation to English, and restarted all.

Now the game is in English, and... it DOES crash way less, i did NOT experience any crash around Pickman's, Faneuil, Old North Church...

I still had some freeze on save here and there, still had a freeze and CTD in Finch Farm, but overall, the game is running pretty smooth in comparison.

Today i managed to cross Boston Downtown running, even fought several groups of ennemies, and it did not crash at all, wich i would never had tried before, cause it would have crash 100%.

So i just wanted to share my found, and maybe it will help some.

And to the devs, there' is probably a localisation issue here, i don't know if it's a mismatch of folder names of a format issue, but turing the game in English did make it more stable for me.

I play on the XBox Series S.

I really appreciate you sharing these details or information to the community. It will help other players on that game to get a workaround if they're experiencing the same issue.

I must agree that it's a stability issue caused by localisation since it works fine compare to other language. If the issue is only happening to that game, we could say that it's also a bug. I highly recommend to contact the game support to report the issue and ask for further assistance. The game should need a patch or update in fixing those stability issues. Very glad to hear that worked for you, but I'm playing, and always have been, with the English localization on Xbox One and most of downtown Boston is nearly unplayable. It has always frozen on me particularly in the Goodneighbor/Corner Bookstore/Faneuil Hall area in particular.

Glad that worked for you, but the Devs for this game have owed us fixes for it for a long, long time now, and they should never have the ability to convince themselves this isn't really an issue. All they need do is a quick Reddit search on this for assurance... if my word alone is not enough, lol.

i get the same thing happen with fallout 4 and forza horizon 3 for some strange reason, found that keeping them both on the internal hdd that they worked a bit better then a external but it still happened

I have tested some mods and yes, it works 4K 60 Hz.

The strange thing is that Bethesda has done a good job with skyrim : it works 4K 60 Hz, but..... couldn't do the same on Fallout 4.... strange... but it's possible to do the same on Fallout 4, with mods !!!
