No elite controller, OMG end of the world...

Maybe thell need to manufacture more elite controllers. Im happy with my day 1 xbox 1 controller. I dont want to pay $100+ for a plastic controller. But i hope geek finds one soon.

 

It is pretty amazing how cynical some people can be about wired controllers.

When I play games I sit in one spot until I am done playing games. A cord running along the floor doesn't bother me one bit. What in the world are you doing while playing games that makes having a wire such a nuisance?

Another plus about my wired controllers is that they plug into my PC without the need of another $25 Microsoft 1st party device.

You're not; you're paying for a largely steel one.

Um, you can plug in the wireless controllers too. You can spend $0 on 1 that comes with a cable pre-packaged or spend >$5 for a simple phone USB charge cable.

 

Not if you want to keep it wireless man!

Remember...some people would STOP playing games if we went back to wired controllers.

But yea that is kind of my point. A wired controller can do 99% of what you would want a wireless one to do. With the 1% NOT being able to play games while you are pooping on the toilet with the bathroom door open.

 

Rvhk, you can play a game while on the toilet with the door closed if you were playing a WiiU. You can switch from the TV to the game pad screen with the touch of a button. It's actually cool and I've used it for the same scenario.

 

Hahaha, seamless gaming from the living room to the throne, ahhhhh, technology.

 

Your statistics seem a little flawed...Lol.

I can bring my wireless controller to the kitchen to grab a glass of tea and still continue to listen/chat with friends. Don't have to worry about family/pets tripping over cords and yanking them out; or possibly crashing the console to the floor. Don't
have to worry about winding up 10' of cord when done playing, or worry about the cord breaking, wearing out, or getting cut somehow. Don't have to worry about cords getting intertwined when multiple people are gaming on the same console.

Wireless is where it's at, be it a controller, printer, etc. I can't believe anyone misses cables and cords going everywhere. Going from a wireless controller to a wired would be the equivalent of going from a Viper GTS to a Chevy Aveo...sure, gets the job
done, but you wouldn't want to be seen in one. ;-)

Just to let you know I didn't write that second quote.

I wouldn't really want to use a wired controller. It's like your internet if you want it wireless or wired. Wireless gives you freedom to move about within a reasonable Wi-Fi range. I can walk to the kitchen or the lounge, I play in my bedroom,, and it still
has a stable signal, and without tangled chords or the chord snapping or getting unplugged. Has anyone here seen another kid try to untangle their earphones from their phones, I even struggle with it, it easily gets tangled, but can be a pain to untangle.
But I wouldn't want to get the elite controller if it's going to be more than $30 more than the full RRP of the normal wireless controller and if it doesn't offer a super significant out-of-this-world improvement. I'm happy with my Xbox 1 Day 1 wireless controller
which does what it's suppose to. But then again, if you think the controller is overpriced, you should see how much they charge for Microsoft Office and Office Word 2016. Not everything about Xbox, whether it's games or hardware, is going to be easy to source.
It could be due to the retail supplier or manufacturer.

In NZ (and Australia), our consumer laws usually offer 12 months. Most electronic gadgets come with at least a 12 month warranty. Our legal rights for people living over here mean that the product is required to last a reasonable time and perform reasonable.
And that usually means a straight up minimum 12 month warranty. I checked DSE NZ's website, and it says 1 year warranty for the regular Xbox 1 wireless controller. The controller ought to come with a 12 month minimum warranty for you Americans.

I believe the Elite only has the standard 90 day warranty for Xbox accessories in the United States which is ridiculous given the price.

 

Apparently, I'm not the only 1
feeling the pinch when it comes to the lack of this controller.
