I find the lack of LAN functionality very disappointing.

I find the lack of LAN function to be crippling for games like HALO. Without LAN, my interest to play wanes considerably. I want to play in a lag free environment with my friends, like Ive been paying out for for the last 10+ years to do. While I wanted
to play this generation of games, I would have more thoroughly considered the purchase before hand, had I know LAN functionality wasn't included.

How will tournaments both big and small function without LAN? More over, I feel like this is the death of everyone getting together, and linking up for games of HALO that last into the early morning hours. Xbox live is nice, but I have to say, I always prefer
the LAN experience in the end. Its just more cohesive and enjoyable overall.

Does anyone else feel this is a sorely missed function? Split screen cutting back was bad enough, this is even worse. At this rate, we will be playing our 360's at LAN parties until they break.

Disappointed

Yes I am very disappointed. But since you can still use Windows as a MCE (additional add-on) then Xbox One should supported.

Even more disappointing is the Xbox One's lack of support for my music.

It does not support playing MP3s or streaming music from Windows Media Player.

Hard to call the Xbox One the all in one solution without some of this basic functionality.

I think 200 cars is plenty. The lack of tracks is more disappointing at only 14 and the price of the DLC seems very high too.

 

Not sure but LAN parties might be a dying breed. Have not had one since the original Xbox and I don't think I would have any interest in having one. Maybe I am alone in this one but I do not feel like dragging my stuff to a friends house for a LAN party
when I can do pretty much the same thing over Xbox live.

 

dude... 18+ plus people... 4 tvs 4 xbox ones.... pizza, soda and beer... what the hey? you don't like LAN parties? sucks to be you then. I once had an epic 10 hour LAN party with some friends playing halo all night.

 

LAN parties are awesome (I've had my fair share of them), but I think Dan97 is right in this case. It's just not what it used to be. That being said, I do agree with the OP - it would be a nice feature to still have.

 

I don't understand can you not just all use a switch, and join as a group or something similar ? If your not liking the lag of using azure servers I am afraid running p2p is dying, you may have to go to the ps4 for this.

 

It's not just about latency. LAN capability was invaluable at times when the internet went out, or in my particular case, our LAN parties were always in a secluded location like in a house in the country (no broadband out there) or at a cabin we'd rent in
town. I realize it's very particular, but the ability to do so has become a staple. It just seems like a function that is always good to have rather than not, though I realize I'm speaking specifically for myself.
