    This sound is VERY audible to me, even while watching something or just sitting at the dashboard. Of the time of posting this, the Xbox was bought on this day. I assume this to be a defective unit as there are other posts talking about similar things.

    Any information or replies would be great. Thank you in advance.

    I would not buy one of These 3rd Party Chinese Power Supplys für the XONE, they are loud and gone defective after a couple of weeks / months. Buy an original One new at Microsoft or used on other platforms. My Opinion

    That's not hard drive sound. I've opened enough PC's in my time to know what a hard disk sounds like and that's not it.

    Sounds like the internal cooling is faulty.

    If you've only had the console a short while, you should return it to where you bought it rather than send it to MS for a repair.

    Thanks for the reply. I bought it today, so it is brand new. Will return tomorrow.

    All devices that have a hard disc at some point get noisy or louder than usual. Unless your console shuts off on its own or gets overheated I wouldn't worry about it.
