Hey. Today I was playing on my Series X, when I suddenly experienced a power cut in middle of a game. It occurred twice, once when I was in middle of a game, and once when I was just scrolling through the UI. During both times, I had the console connected directly to my extension cord (which was connected to the wall outlet) and didn't remove the plug during the outage. Could this damage my xbox in any way? If so, how do I prevent it from happening again?

    :)

"Could this damage my xbox in any way? If so, how do I prevent it from happening again?"

All xbox consoles have built in surge protection so its not necessary to connect the console to an external surge protector. The reason for plugging the console directly into a wall socket is to prevent overloading the electrical circuit with too many devices, on a power board, which has the potential to drop the power required to operate the console successfully.

As to how to prevent power outages affecting your console, the only way I know is to install a UPS (un interruptable power supply) which will operate when it detects a power loss or outage. An expensive option.

They will only supply power as long as the battery in the UPS lasts, or the mains power is restored.

Do I need a new controller?

Hello ÚÑKÑØẄÑ ©, My name is David. I am an independent advisor, happy to help you today.

I'm sorry you're experiencing this issue with your Xbox Series X controller. Here are some possible solutions you could try:

Restart your Xbox console: Press and hold the power button on your Xbox console until it turns off. Next, disconnect the Xbox Series X from its power source. Turn off the Xbox controller and remove its batteries. Finally, connect and turn on your Xbox Series X.

Restart the controller: Press and hold the power button on the controller for several seconds until it turns off. Then turn it back on.

Pair the controller with the console again: Press and hold the sync button on the console until the power button flashes. Then, press and hold the sync button on the controller until the lights on the controller flash.

    Best regards.

Same issue with my Series X. Can't seem to get a phone call with Microsoft either. Many others are experiencing the same issues and others have slightly more random crashes. Then you have the won't power on issues that people have. I think MS has it's
    work cut out for them.

Xbox Series X fan runs loud when playing Series X games

So, I recently noticed that my Xbox Series X fan runs loud when playing Series X|S / Optimised for Series X|S games specifically.

It’s quite strange as it’s dead quiet every other time, but as soon as I start a Series X|S game, the fan becomes so loud that I need to turn up the tv volume.. it’s quite distracting.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any solutions?

FYI - My Series X is a pre-order/launch day model.. and it sits in an open and well ventilated tv/entertainment stand*

In comparison, I owned an Xbox One S for three years and I never heard the fan on that.
I’m having the exact same problem now. The only time my Xbox sounds loud is when running series x enhanced games, it’s completely fine on old gen games. Have you had this issue fixed or is it still a problem now?
