    Snap, nothing works, the system is shocking right now. Prior to xmas was fine, since xmas day been awful. Christmas day was so awful as kids got disney infinity and basically couldn't play it..

    it is not just Live PSN (playstation network) is down too it is not maintenance so it is out of their hands.

    I have 2 xbox 360's and today my kids got an xbox one. Tired of paying out money for these machines and yet again for the 3rd time they cant get on any of them. This is ridiculous. Fix the *** live. You guys are pissing a lot of people off with this.
    How can you not stop people from doing this over and over again.

    Both Xbox live and PSN got hacked today. It is better that they go down than the hackers dig further into things and take personal info right? This is beside the fact that millions of new consoles are getting first updates today. It happens every Christmas.

    Immune to mishaps and errors? No.

    Xbox will not give you compensation for one, two, four days of interrupted service.

    What is it that you really expect to get?

    I mean, let's be real here. Xbox does not provide anything less than a 14 day free trial pass...

    Yes, Trial. And if you get one of those you'll still complain!

    So what is it, that you really expect to get?

    See.... People just want to complain about random stuff and expect to get some kind of compensation for something that really isn't adding up to what you should be compensated for.

    Now, don't get me wrong. I understand that you pay your hard earned money for a service that should be reliable. I get it.

    But does it make it better to call support and yell at the agent who is trying to help you? Or to complain and whine on the forums?

    NO! It really doesn't.

    I'm an Xbox customer, a father of 5 and I have four consoles, three subscriptions that I pay for, and hey, I'm not the happiest camper with the service right now, but I know that going about it the wrong way will get me nowhere!

    At best, you call, yell, ask for a supervisor, get denied one, and your back at square one!

    Oh, don't let me forget.... "YOU" get a nice little note put into your file that says...."this person is an ungrateful, selfish little hobbit! Or troll, depending on how the agent feels at the moment.

    It goes through the agent network and then when you encounter a "REAL" problem......

    That's right... Your up dung's creek without a life raft!

    Please, folks... Think. It's not the agent who is doing this to you..

    Petitions have been known to get things done.

    And Microsoft Prides itself on it's customers being satisfied!

    So, let's stop being angry and start letting them know how we feel by doing this the grown up way.

    Honestly depending on what all went down if they were ddos certain ways there really is no way to stop it I am not very happy about it but there is nothing that could be done it happens Christmas should be spent with family anyways, but in most eyes it's
    all about what you get I live far from my family but instead of Xbox I decided to Skype my brother and have dinner and we chatted I don't see why it is such a bad thing for it to go down on Christmas.

    Anyway, I would not expect much or anything, at best all your Xbox Live gold memberships would not be counted for the days it was off. Not sure what PSN would get if anything.

    My current job is to program special server software in Java, that software then gets attacked by the company to try for exploits within out code. There will be exploits that we didn't test simply because we are human, we don't know everything in the world.
    We has humans also make mistakes, deal with it.

    And there is a simple way how you can stop this from happening over and over again .... sort of. By going back to the dark ages where you manually selected the server you wish to go onto then attempt to connect to it, BUT connecting to Xbox live would not
    work very well. The DDOS attack would only affect one server instead of the bunch of servers.
