I downloaded the game, but it says to insert disk

This last weekend, the Borderlands "Handsome Jack" collection was free to download. So I downloaded the pre-quel first. I have At&T DSl, so it took a few days to download the whole game.

I went to start the game last night, and it says that I need to insert the disk, or buy the game in order to play it. The code was 0x803f8001.

The only other info that I think could be helpful, is that I selected the free version for download (to the console) via the PC Xbox app (Win 10).

Am I doing something wrong?

Downloaded games won't play without disk...why?

I have saved several games from purchased disk to hard drive, plus downloaded from live to console, but they say that I cannot play them without having the disk inserted. Why do I have to insert the disk if it is downloaded to the hard drive? How do I play
a game downloaded to the hard drive without using the disk?

Just tried it and all it says is insert disk, no game comes up. The picture just says insert disk instead of the game : /

Im well surprised that theres no way of restoring it back to brand new, why on earth does it keep the patches?

The game was only free to play as part of an event over the weekend. You would need to purchase the game in order to continue playing.
