Under Security Mode there is a drop down menu. The menu should have 3 options the last one should be Show more or something to that effect sorry... It has been awhile since I have been in one of these gateways.

Tried changing the settings, it didn't work

it used to connect just fine before, ive had it for a bit less than a year, I'm so glad I prefer playstation

I don't think its the stinkin ISP

This gateway has a double save for the encryption. After you select the correct encryption you need to press apply then a pop up comes up asking if you are sure as it will disable WPS and you need to hit apply again, but that's not the end you now need to
hit save on the wireless settings page. For good measure you may want to go to another page then back to the wireless settings to make sure the "Security Mode" has changed, this gateway doesn't work well with all browsers so you may need to use Internet Explorer
on windows PC to do this.

I recommend WPA TKIP, but Open works if you want to prove functionality.

I also have the same issue and modem device, but my brother also has an xbox one and plays wirelessly and doesnt have the same problem only my xbox does.

Even tried to do it wired same issue. Saying cant find DHCP I'm wondering if something is wrong with these newer xboxes I barely bought mine a month and a half ago

My ps4 and all my devices connect just fine wired and wirelessly. Going to have to send a brand new xbox in i guess

(update) I had to get into my router on unrelated issues. I spoke to time warner on customer service support. I hard resetted the router and got the new firmware. Tried it again and now my xbox is working. So you were right something to do with the firmware
version but I only had problems with the xbox one

01.ED.04.29.00 its in the software tab of your gateway. That is the latest firmware version if this doesnt match to mine you have an older version

oh, now that I think about it, I connect to TC 8717 but I don't know if that's the model #

Hello!

Is your Gateway the Technicolor TC8717T ? Or perhaps the TC8715D? TWC (Time Warner Cable), recently released a new firmware that changed the wireless encryption...Now when the Xbox Is connecting and shaking hands with it it gets a really messed up instruction
and the wireless card crashes and the Xbox Follows suit. No worries it does all this to protect the console from harm and there is a fix. To be more precise there is 3 known fixes for this gate way and always the option to swap it out. Your console is not
broken.You can go wired, Change the encryption or have TWC roll back the last firmware update.

If you follow these instructions I believe your issue will be resolved. (Sorry most of this from memory and based off the TC8305C)

How to Change Wireless Security

1.Open a web browser.

2.Log into the router by entering the default gateway into the address bar of the internet browser. (Example
http://192.168.0.1/ )

3.The gateway will then prompt for a user name and password. The default is the user name “admin” and the password is “password”.

4.From the menu on the left select Gateway.

5.From the submenu on the left select Connection.

6.From the next submenu select WiFi.

7.Under Private WiFi Network select Edit on the Network you wan to use.

8.Select the "Show More Security Options" (allow the pop up)

9.Select WPA TKIP (about the 6th option from the bottom)

10. Press Apply. (confirm the prompt about WPS no one used that and it is kind of insecure)

11. Select Save.

Give this a go and tell me how it goes.
