    I don't have an HDMI connection


    My cable box does not have an HDMI cord. The Microsoft support that I received today said that I could download a Comcast app to get live tv. There is no Comcast app, so I cannot watch live TV.

    What is the point of this system? NONE of our 360 games work on the Xbox one, we can't watch live TV, and the 3-month subscription to Gold Live will erase my son's games after 3 months, assuming that we are ever able to find the option to download the games.
    The main page is VERY difficult to navigate.

    So far, I regret buying the XBox One. I should have purchased the PS4 as my son requested.

    Sorry OpulentSquash, that is not the issue. I don't, as a number of other people, do not use optical connections, and have only used HDMI connections.

    Xbox one optical update?

    i have not tried the optical out directly on the xb1... i have run my dolby surround on a (out) for my tv... i guess i should try it off my xb1 and see if i get the update??

    it would make no sense to me that it would only work with a headset/astros/tb... to get the update thru a plug in on the controller..

    i have used my xb1 hdmi out to my tv and used the coax/aux audio output to my digital bar... games like bf4 have changed compared to convential speaker/tv speakers... but forza5 sounds the same... and really in twitch streams it dosnt have the output/digital feed like it would on personal console/game..

    so if it was bundled in with the update i got it.. if i had to connect some other way than i did not or was not prompted to at any point that i connected the soundbar.

    unless i am missing something my coax wont plug in to the back of my xb1.. i have to go directly from the tv.

    I don't think you need to have a composite cable and hdmi cable connected at the same time. Unless Roxio requests that be done, but since you don't need to have an HDMI cable and composite cable connected at the same time, I don't see why it'd be any different
    with the roxio.

    I mean, you only need one. I would go with the HDMI cable.

    Ι have tried it on another tv monitor and it did work. The connection with hdmi was working. And my current tv works with the same hdmi cable if i connect a laptop with it. It's really strange. I don't know what else I have to do
