I did not create a new Xbox live gamer tag and I want my original account

I quit playing Xbox several years ago and lost my account info. Now I have created a new Microsoft account to access Windows 10 services but it shows I have a gamer tag and purchased an Xbox live subscription. I have gone through every measure to ensure
my account is now secure but I would also like to associate my old account with my new one. It doesn't seem to be possible but I would like to have my old gamer tag and points if I'm going to play games from the Windows 10 store.

Anyway to transfer Live Gold to a newly created Xbox Live account?

I created a Live account and was assigned a name tag that I don't want. I tried changing it and I'm being charged for the change. I contacted Xbox support and the agent told me under my account, there were two previous tag name changes made in 2014. I
am 100% sure I did not make those name tag changes in 2014.

Without the name tag fee waved I have to pay to change the name tag. Is it possible to create a new Outlook.com email and have my 12 months Xbox Live Gold transferred to the new account so that I can create a new name tag?

So, how many of you are 10 year Xbox Live gamers?

I started with the xboxlive beta with the headset and MotoGP disk, but I currently have a new different gamer tag due to my associated Hotmail account going inactive, due to not logging into email, and thus preventing me from renewing the live account. I had to create a new account while I went through the steps of recovery for the Hotmail address. Once recovered, I simply stayed with my new gamer tag... Now associated with the old Hotmail account. :-(

I am not sure how it happened. I already had a Microsoft account. When I got my xbox I created an account and got a gamer tag while setting up my xbox. I signed up for xbox live from my xbox using my existing gamer tag and Microsoft account. I then went
to xbox live and signed in using my Miicrosoft account, and for some reason when I did this a new gamer tag was created and associate to my Microsoft account. So, now when I log into xbox live I see one gamer tag. But on my xbox I have a different gamer
tag.

Thank you for the replies, my intention with my original gamer tag was never meant to be offensive but just trying to be funny. Am I allowed to post my original gamer tag on this forum? I did not want to put my original gamer tag in my original post since
it was deemed offensive as gamer tag and did not want to break any of the forum rules.

Hi Lmw_438,

Lets see if we can help...

Did you link the original gamer-tag to an Epic account before you started purchasing items? If you didn't, then Epic creates a random account and links the account to it. When this is done, I don't see a way of unlinking that random account with the gamer-tag,
as you can't log-in to a randomly created Epic account on a PC.

But if the Epic account was created first and then the gamer-tag was linked after, you maybe able to sign-in the Epic account on a PC, remove the old gamer-tag and link a new one. Transferring all purchases to a new account.

I'll do a bit of research and let you know.

I played a game offline and want to use the gamer tag that I currently have online. Is there a way to simply delete this account from LIVE and create a new one via the console so that I can keep my stats and claim this tag?
