I created a new Xbox account on the same email, now I can't access the old one. Help!

When did you last successfully sign in to your Microsoft account?

If you have not logged into your account for more than two years it has been closed due to inactivity.

The Microsoft account and Xbox Account are the same thing.

When you created a new account with the same e-mail, this one is not associated with your old Xbox Profile.

Your previous account must have expired or been compromised, clearing the e-mail for use on new accounts.

I created the new account about 2 days ago maybe. But on accident as I was trying to sign into the old account as it logged me out for some reason. And when signing in it made the new account for some reason, now when I try logging into the old one it just takes me to the new one. The email address for the new one is ********(removed PII)********* and for the old one I remember it being the same which is why I'm confused. I did create a new email when I was making my old account but I didn't use it from what I know of. I do have access to the new accounts email. I have tried resetting my password but it didn't change anything and I can't change my password for the old account because it takes me to the new account any time I click it. Yes I am using the same device and platform for both accounts, this is why I am so confused as to what has happened. And not from what I noticed, I didn't see any error messages. I am pretty sure I was using the same email and password when signing in and I am using the same device and platform for both accounts.

Well, I don't need to change my gamertag for my new (accidentally) created account. I just need to log back into my old xbox account.

And if I try to use my old gamertag, it says that it's already used. Trying to add a # makes it say that I need to have 12 characters or less.

My email doesn't access 2 accounts, it only accesses the new one and I can't log back into my old one.

Hello, I have the same problem with my account. Microsoft MADE me login again to play Minecraft PE and it somehow created a new account on THE SAME email.

Now I can't access any of the games I purchased, but somehow still can access Minecraft PE, but not JAVA and Forza Horizon 4, please help because this is the equivalent to waste of money!

Same thing happened to me years ago. It's frustrating but without access to the email you can't recover the account. I just had to set a new account and losse the old one.
