    ok so I use to donate plasma and the center gave me a pre paid Visa card I used to buy a month of Xbox live with. I had no idea it auto renewed until just a few moments ago so I turned it off. I no longer donate so no money is being put on the card anymore
    so i put my new debit card on. So what i have been trying to figure out since before my renewal is how to take the pre paid card off my account and make my debit Xbox active but when I try to remove the pre pay it says I have to contact support. so my question
    is can someone please help me take a dead card off my account please?

    Yeah if all else fails phone support and as long as you can remember your secret answer all will be well even if you have forgotten your pass word

    i could use some help.

    I put an xbox live password on my xbox and my xbox live mebership is still active but when i try to sign in to live, the screen says, "your xbox live membership information isnt valid. please use a profile that contains membership or recover your profile
    from xbox live." what do i have to do for my profile to get back on xbox live?

    Hello Freesty0bin

    You note that you have tried removing it off of your account. There are several ways you can try removing it before contacting Customer Support

    1. Sign in to your Microsoft account
    2. https://account.xbox.com/PaymentAndBilling

      (Manage Payment Options)
    3. Through your console/device
    You noted that it auto renewed but turned it off after you noticed that as you cannot renew it due to them not putting money in your pre-paid card.

    Sometimes cards cannot be used if it is actively subscribed to a payment method

    If none of these solve your problem I really do recommend visiting XboxChat Support

    Explain to them with your concerns and the issue you are facing, in this case it will not remove a payment instrument and you no longer want that card associated with your account, and they should be able to sort this for you.

    If the subscription is still active and you want your card removed, they should be able to drop your membership and delete the card, and in most cases they might issue a replacement token. From that point on you should subscribe to gold using your preferred
    method I could use some expert help please. :)

  6. Unfortunately no It did not it told me I have an outstanding charge or something when I went to remove the card from my account.

  7. Oh right :-( yep that could do it too. Maybe if you contacted the billing side of Xbox they may be able to find a way to alter that so you can pay the charge through a different payment instrument!

    I was seeking some information in Support Chat. Additionally you could add a new payment method and transfer the balance to that and then you should be able to remove the dead card

    1. http://billing.microsoft.com

    2. See the option where you can add a new card

    3. Add the new card

    4. Transfer the existing balance

    5. Remove the dead card

    He also mentioned that they would be able to do it for you in support chat by visiting:

    support.xbox.com/contact-us
