I contacted support to fix a problem,they had me do their version of the reinstall windows...

I contacted Xbox support and they did that and it did not help last thing they had me do was deleted game then reinstalled windows then reinstalled game but that did not work either

I will do my best to provide some recommended solutions to try and resolve this problem. Some of my suggestions may sound redundant, and you can skip to the next one you have not attempted. When you mention that our support team had you perform their version of reinstalling Windows? Did they have you complete a Refresh Your P.C. to reinstall Windows and keep your personal files and settings? Refresh keeps the apps that came with your P.C. and the apps you installed from the Microsoft Store. Sometimes, that does not resolve the issue if there are additional issues with the operating system. I will provide a list of recommended solutions that you can try and then another list of a final solution that would work and additional steps to ensure that your Xbox App continues to work and is not a short-term fix. As for the error code 0x0800704c6, what I am getting back on my end is a network issue, meaning that something might be blocking the connection to the Xbox App. As you mentioned, Steam and other launchers work; I am not saying that you do not have internet access. But there are instances where firewalls, third-party Antivirus, or P.C. optimizers can block the Xbox gaming services.

Recommended Solutions

Solution 1: Reinstall the Gaming Services app on your Windows 10/11 device:

1. Select the Search icon on the taskbar, type PowerShell, right-click on Windows PowerShell, and select Run as administrator.
   
2. In Windows PowerShell, type the following command and press Enter:

Then scroll down and click on the drop-down arrow and look at the steps for How to enable offline play on your device.

Before performing this, I would back up your data, I.E., photos, videos, documents, files. Once you have completed this, I would also do the following solutions I will provide below.

How to format a USB flash drive or external storage device to NTFS on Windows | Xbox Support. Make sure all your drives are formatted as NTFS in order to install games.

Get the Xbox Insider Hub app; please sign-up for the Xbox Insider app; this will give you an updated version of the Xbox App that allows you to choose where to install and control the install folders. Once you download the App

1. Open App and sign in.
   
2. Then go to Preview
   
3. Select Join Windows gaming
   
4. Wait for the pending to stop, and it will confirm you are in the Preview.
   
5. Then restart the PC, reinstall Flight Simulator, and choose a place on the hard drive that you would like to have the install folder.

I tried both but I nothing works.I did contact the game develepors but they told me to contact you guys here.

If I reinstall my Windows will that fix the problem?

I had the same problem, download the latest version of windows 10 updated 10/5/2020.then reinstall xbox games pass pc ( beta)

then delete gears 5 and then try to download again using games pass beta . It should now reinstall the upgraded version of gears 5

do not reinstall or do a clean version of windows 10 . Its microsofts not doing enough to keep you informed.

It tells you on the game on the bottom right you need the updated windows 10 to run the game

Ok i tried to do what the support page was trying to show me but it still did not fix my problem, i even deleted minecraft windows 10 edition and reinstalled it, but it still has the bold text
