    I changed my gamer tag on XBL about a week ago. Just wondering why is does not show in game. Is there a step I missed? Why is it taking so long? And is there something I can do to make it show in game properly?

    Hello Shhirin,

    Thank you for posting here on the Xbox forums. How long ago did you change your gamer tag? I personally changed mine about a week ago, and it took a day to change on all platforms.

    Where have you checked your profile? If you haven't already, check
    Xbox.com     or an xbox console/PC app. Let us know if you see your new gamer tag there.

    Today I lost my love of Microsoft

    Last time my Son changed his gamer tag it allowed him the first change for free. That was about 3 years ago now so maybe they have stopped that now. If you have never changed it before it might be worth asking the question about 1st change of gamer tag
    for free.

    The old gamer tag will eventually disappear and only the new one will remain.

    It took about a good week before everything for me updated to the new gamer tag after my change a while back.
