    Hi,

    I wanted to purchase DLC for Dirt 3 (PC). When I tried adding my credit card information, it said it couldn't connect to Live. I used the FAQ to look up the solution and it said I could also redeem a code. I bought a code online: [Mod remove] for 1200 MS
    Points (only need 800, but that wasn't an option). Started the game, logged in and tried redeeming the code. Another error. I pressed the Home key which opens the ingame 'Windows Live account window' and went to my account. A browser opened and I had to log
    in. I pressed the 'Redeem Code' button in my browser and tried redeeming the code again. This time it worked and I then had 21.44 euros to spend. I started the game again, logged in and tried downloading the DLC, but it said I have 0 Microsoft Points to spend.
    I've already tried restarting the game, logging out/logging in but nothing works.

    I talked to Christine from customer support and she told me I could only use the money for a console, and not a PC. If that's the case, why does the game send me to the Xbox website instead of a Windows Gaming website? The only reason I bought a code, is
    because the game wouldn't let me add my credit card as a payment option. By buying a code, I paid for 1200 MS Points and I only need 800 MS Points for the DLC. Now I haven't only paid too much for the DLC I want, but I can't even use the money to buy the DLC.

    Can't buy some of Dirt 3 DLC for PC

    Hi

    As said in subject, I can't buy some of the Dirt 3 DLC for PC. I'm getting a message saying that my purchase can't be completed at the moment and that I should try again later. Problem is, it's doing this only for 2 DLC: the "Monte-Carlo track pack" and
    the "Power and Glory car pack". I purchased 5 others DLC (for Dirt 3 too) successfully (only "Muds and Guts car pack" failed the same way once or twice before it works) but those 2 just won't... I was buying all of them in a row, with the same paypal account,
    so it just doesn't make any sense.

    Before someone asks, my account is registered in the right country where I live (France) and I'm using the right market (so France too) so it can't be the issue.

    Any help would be really appreciated.

    I can not download the purchased DLC through Games for Windows Marketplace PC for Dirt 3. I receive the message "There was an error retrieving your purchase history, please sign out and try again later". In the game, the account comes in without problems.

    I am hope for your help.

    please do NOT post codes for stuff like that in the forums, even tho you may have an issue with it somebody can read this post and try to redeem that code as this is a public forum and ANYBODY can view your posts.

    Ah, thanks for the tip. The code has already been redeemed and I can't change my original post, but I'll keep it in mind if I ever have to make a new post.

    Is this forum just other users trying to answer my question, or are there 'real' Microsoft employees that can help?

    we are for the most part gamers just like you but we DO have MS support people that can reply they would have the words OFFICIAL XBOX SUPPORT instead of a level number on their game card. but they are not always availible so we take up the slack when we
    can and try to help the best we can.

    When trying to add payment options, I got an error code: 8016CE52. I looked up the error code and got this anwser:

    "Can't Retrieve information from Xbox LIVE. Please try again later."

    Status code: 8016CE52

    This may mean that there’s a problem with the billing information for your Microsoft account.

    Solutions

    Solution 1: Verify the information for your Microsoft account

    To do this, follow these steps:

    Sign in to your Microsoft account.

    Click Billing.

    Verify your billing information.

    Sign out of your Microsoft account, and then sign in again.

    Sign in to Xbox LIVE and try to download the content again.

    Solution 2: Contact your bank or financial institution

    The Xbox LIVE purchase might have failed because:

    The credit card has not been activated.

    The credit card was declined due to insufficient funds.

    The credit card is not authorized for online purchases or automatic billing.

    The credit card company is blocking the transaction.

    Contact your credit card company or bank and make sure that the card that you’re using was activated, that it has available funds, and that the transaction is not being blocked for some reason.

    Solution 3: Use an Xbox gift card or membership card if available

    Alternatively, you can purchase an Xbox gift card from a retail location and use it to make purchases. Note that not all purchases support Xbox gift cards or prepaid options. Before purchasing Xbox gift cards or a prepaid card, make sure that purchase option
    is available for the item you want to purchase.

    If you are still experiencing the problem, contact Xbox Support by clicking the “Contact us” link at the bottom of this page.

    I verified my information as mentioned in solution 1. I didn't try solution 2, because I can't contact my bank on a sunday, so solution 3 was the only option left.
