I can't use my Gift Card????

I'm having problems using gift cards on my Xbox One... and it's been happening for a while now.

I feel like this is Microsoft's sneaky way of trying to get bank card details and I really don't want to give that because the last time I used my bank card to make a single purchase, I was (without consent or notification) signed up to an annual subscription
of Xbox Live. I only found out a year later when I started to notice the same amount being withdrawn from my account. I cancelled immediately (because I don't play online THAT often).

I used to be able to use gift cards to buy things like DLC's or full games off the Market Place, but ever since, I haven't been able to. Recently two (pre-XONE) games have become available and I would LOVE to play them both again, but I can't even buy them
with my accounts credit. I'm being asked to provide card details which I really do NOT want to do.

I'm seriously starting to consider changing to a whole other gaming platform because this seems borderline fraudulant, offering gift cards of varying value, but not allowing people to use them! And worse, once you scratch the code you can't take it back
for a refund, so you're stuck with [insert value] in an account and you can't use it!

Would really love some help with resolving this.

can't use my gift card

I got a gift card from my mate and when I try to use it wont let me it makes me use credit card I check my balance and I have the right amount in please help.

 

I can't use my xbox gift card

I bought and redeemed a 20 dollar xbox gift card on my account, but when I try to buy a currency pack in Rainbow Six Siege, it doesnt work. Please help. I redeemed the gift card on this website

 

Heya, you will be required to use a credit card to make the purchase of back compat games on the Xbox One. If you have an Xbox 360, you can make purchases with your account balance on that console only. If this is not an option we
would recommend adding your card, making your purchase then
removing the card from the account when you are done with the purchase.
