I can't stream. How do I change parent accounts?

So I've spent all freaking day trying to stream on Twitch through my Xbox One console but with no success. The error code I keep getting states the account I am using is underage yet with the birthday I have set for the account, it should say I'm 18. However,
I cannot change my privacy settings on my main account as it says "To change your settings, ask your parent to sign in and choose your gamerpic in Settings" and I still have to go through the "parent" account to change those settings. Can someone please help
me because I am utterly frustrated right now. I just want to know if it's possible to transfer the parent "powers" to my main account or if anyone knows how to fix this, that would be great. Thank you and have a nice day.

Hello Stretchy Sion,

You will need to first gain access to the parental account in order for you to be able to successfully agree to the terms and conditions. If you're a child account, if you're able to gain access to your account you should be able to promote your account from
a child to an adult (assuming you're at least 18 years old) by following the directions given here.

The parent must agree to the new terms first and then you can login to your own account and accept them. If you don't have access to the parental account you will need to try to fill out the Microsoft Account Recovery form found here,
or try to reset the password found here.

If you're unable to either of those things then you may be out of luck. You can try to contact phone support and see if they are able to assist you in
some way, but I don't think they will be able to as you used false information on the parental e-mail.

If you wish to change the parental e-mail, you will need to have access to the prior parental account first. Once you have access to that parental account you'd download it to your Xbox 360 console and go to Settings > Family and the parent will remove themselves
as the child's guardian. When the child logs into Xbox LIVE again they are asked to enter in a new e-mail address for a parent before they are able to proceed.

If the account you are using has the correct birth date (meaning the age on the account is 18) it is automatically promoted to an adult (parent) account. The birth date cannot be changed from what it was when the account was created. Are you able to access
the settings from your account?

Thanks for that Vaskania.. I think they removed the section from the GUI that removes someone from your family cause I can't find it. I am assuming I will have to do it on his Xbox next time I am over there. Unless someone out there knows the exact location
so I can just do it from my xbox. I went to the area that Gwyther said to go to but that didn't work either, I didn't see the option to remove them. I will look again tonight.

I chatted with XBOX live yesterday and was told that there is no way to do this. I will try it tonight. Do you know if I can do it from my Xbox or do I have to do it from his?

also, will it then ask for another parental account? That would be great if it did, so I can just have his mom create one and we will be all set.

No no, If you can get him to go to the "Family Settings" option on the Xbox, there should be an option to "Remove From Family". Once he removes you, when you try to sign in, it will say "You need to associate your account with a new Parent Windows LIVE ID".
Trust me with this.

The primary email for my parent account has potentially been compromised. Is there any other way to remove the parent account? I'll be turning 18 next year. If I have to wait until next year to promote my own account, it really sucks.
