I can't speak into my microphone but I could hear others

I was playing sea of thieves and someone came over towards me and they told me to join theyre alliance and i was able to talk back then but not now but i wasnt able to talk in game so i tried to fix it because the guy said to change some xbox settings i
dont think i changed much but i did switch a lot of things but i switched them all back to normal but if someone would tell me how to set all setting to default that would maybe help but i need some answers, i fully turned off my xbox, i updated my controllers,
i even switched to my secondary controller but it still didnt work, i could hear everything but i cant talk to anything.
