    I can't send or receive messages on the console, desktop or mobile apps.


    So for a month or so i have not been able to read my past messages, i can't send or receive messages. I tried this on two different computers on the xbox app, i tried this on my console as well as both xbox apps on my phone and it didnt work. I want to know
    what has happened here. Everytime I go into my messages it either says "its quiet here" or something like "we cant get your messages at the moment" so i dont have any indication that i have violated any policies (i havent) and i dont have my xbox gold subscription
    expiring within the next two months (not that that matters). Need help asap as i need to message people to coordinate with them for games and stuff.

    I can't send or receive messages on xb1 or smartglass but can on my 360 tried everything from hard resetting to resetting whole console but still nothing find it very frustrating as I use messages a lot for Fifa pro clubs etc

    Can you check your Enforcement History to see if any action was taken against your account? Check enforcement.xbox.com just to make sure, especially it seems to be across all devices.

    There are also limits to the number of messages that can be sent, which might be a cause of your issues: Xbox Messaging Error | Messaging on Xbox | Xbox Messaging Error

    From there I would recommend you check your Privacy and Online settings, which might be set to not allow you to send messages: Xbox One online safety and privacy settings

    If you are a child account, an adult account in the family would need to make the changes on their account, but if not, you should be able to follow the steps to allow you to send messages.

    Hi, I checked out my enforcement and I have a good standing. No complaints filed by me or against me. I'm also on xbox one, so i looked for it and made sure that i was on the right page. I checked my privacy settings also and they're all in the right place.
    in fact, i was sending messages just fine until one day my messages stopped working and i had changed nothing as far as i remember. I am 24 years old so adult privileges are not an issue. I tried to look for an error code but unfortunately it just says something
    like "Your messages cannot be loaded at this time, please try again at a later time".

    Microsoft Reputation Check page? This is a different method of verifying a phone number, which has helped resolved similar issues you're reporting. Give that a shot, and then proceed to
    try messaging. To be safe, try power cycling your Xbox One console by holding down the power until is fully powers down before attempting.
