I can't send message to my friends on Xbox one

I can't send messages to anyone on my friends list. I have gotten messages, but it won't let me reply. I followed the following advise and it still isn't working. Any other ideas on how to fix this?

Sorry to hear that you're unable to send messages. Let's have you power cycle your Xbox One if you haven't already first.
It might also be necessary to reset your router/modem as well.

To clarify, when you looked at the link you posted, did you go through with getting the code sent to your mobile phone and updating that information? If not, you'll need to start there.

Gotcha. What exactly happens when you try to send messages? Does it give you an error message or code? If so, providing that to us would be super helpful. Have you tried using Xbox.com or the Xbox app on either mobile phone or PC to send messages? You can
try messaging me to test out those others if you'd like.

I didn't see your second response. I had to use the app, my computer, as well as my console to finally get it working.... But I got it. Thanks for the help. Wish I would've seen your response sooner.
